Whether his paintings are a portrait or a scene, Dan Lydersen’s art is focused on characters. Some of these characters are people, but many more are amalgamations of objects and body parts arranged in impossible ways, as if Dan has rendered wild cubist creations into our familiar three-dimensional plane. While some of these renderings could easily be frightening, Dan’s choice of color and lighting usually gives these creatures an approachable - maybe even friendly - appearance. Or perhaps that’s just our madness settling in...?
Since receiving his Masters in Fine Art at the San Francisco Art Institute, Dan Lydersen has had extensive gallery showings in both group and solo exhibitions. These appearances have spanned not only the United States, with shows from California to New York and many states in-between, but also the globe, with artwork being featured at exhibitions in Portugal, Australia, and more. Dan is currently represented by the Jack Fischer Gallery in San Francisco, CA.
